Volumising and Lip Treatments

PRECAUTIONS

AFTERCARE
Wrinkle reduction
+ Avoid touching the injection site for at least 4 to 6 hours following the treatment.
Avoid rubbing the injection site for 24 hours after treatment.
+ It is recommended to use the injected muscles as much as possible for the first 1 to 2 hours of the treatment. For instance, try raising your brows, practicing frowning, and squinting. These simple actions will allow the wrinkle reduction product to work into your muscles. While this is a recommended practice, forgetting it won’t impact the treatment negatively.
+ Makeup can be worn after treatment, however, avoid rubbing the area after the treatment, and avoid facials and saunas on the day of getting treatment.
+ Do not opt for any facials, microdermabrasion treatments, or massages for two weeks post the treatment.
+ It can take around 14 days for the results to show their full potential. Most patients will notice a change in 4 to 5 days. However, it is essential to note that muscles take time to lose strength. As a result, fine lines will take some time to fade away. Wait for two weeks before assessing your results.
+ Do not exercise or indulge in any physically intensive activities that cause you to sweat for the next 24 hours post the treatment.
+ Avoid leaning forward or lying down for at least the first 4 hours after the treatment. Leaning back propped up on a pillow is okay.
+ You might experience bruising at the treatment site. This is normal and is a temporary side effect that will fade away.
+ Stay clear of blood-thinning medications for a couple of days post the treatment.
+ Remember to wear sunscreen every single day.
Lip and volume enhancing fillers
+ Regularly treat injected area with a cool compress to minimise swelling and/or bruising.
+ Avoid lying face down (such as massages) for 48 hours and try to sleep on your back if possible.
+ Avoid touching or picking any welts, bumps, blephs or needle marks.
+ Avoid make-up, alcohol, caffeine and strenuous exercise (walking is okay) for 24-48 hours after treatment.
+ Avoid inversions in yoga, do not do hot yoga and keep your heart rate under 100 for 24-48 hours.
+ Minimise sun exposure and heat until any initial swelling and redness have resolved.
+ Avoid squeezing or massaging the treated areas as this could subtly change the results .
+ Avoid flying for 3 days (no long haul for 7 days following treatment).
+ Avoid other aesthetic procedures, prolonged sun exposure and extreme temperatures (e.g. saunas) for 14 days.
+ Avoid dental treatments for 4 weeks after dermal and lip filler treatments.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
+ Swelling and bruising can give the appearance of unevenness where filler has been injected. This will settle 7-10 days post-treatment. If unevenness is apparent after 10 days, please contact us.
+ Wrinkle reduction is a quick procedure, and the results will last about 3 to 4 months. If you wish to maintain the results, you must keep up with the injections at a frequency recommended by your injector.
+ Patients who take aspirin, fish oil or other medications associated with increased bruising may find their bruising risk increased. Arnica or Hirudoid cream are available over the counter to treat bruising.
+ Cold sores or the herpes virus can be reactivated by some treatments, such as lip injections. Anti-viral medication may be taken 2-3 days prior to and after treatment to help prevent an outbreak if you do have a history of cold sores.
+ Having filler after a recent virus can result in delayed-onset inflammation. If you have recently had a virus, such as COVID-19, or have been unwell please contact us before your appointment.
+ If you have any pain, you may take Panadol or Paracetamol as directed by your health professional.
+ If you do not attend your follow up appointment for anti-wrinkle and/or dermal filler treatment, we cannot be held liable if you are unhappy with your treatment.
REVIEW APPOINTMENTS
Don’t forget to schedule your complimentary follow up appointment. It is essential to schedule your follow up appointment 2 weeks post-wrinkle reduction injections, 4 weeks post-dermal and/or lip filler injections and 6 weeks post-fat reduction treatments. Your follow up appointment is mandatory to ensure satisfaction and continuation of patient care.
Wrinkle reduction - 2 weeks post-treatment
Wrinkle reduction review appointments are important as it allows our medical staff time to assess your response to the treatment. People respond differently to the product injected depending on their age, the degree and depth of wrinkling and the underlying strength of their muscles. Attending your follow up after your first visit with us is especially important in order for us to assess your dosage and address any concerns with results.
Please note: If any additional treatments are necessary additional treatment costs may apply.
Volumising and lip treatments - 4 weeks post-treatment
While results are instant with dermal fillers, swelling & bruising can be expected for up to 14 days. Lumps & bumps are also quite normal while the filler is settling and integrating into your tissue. Please return to our clinic 4 weeks post-treatment so we can ensure the filler is settling correctly and assess any concerns, such as lumps or unevenness.
If you do not attend your follow up appointment for wrinkle reduction and/or dermal filler treatment, we cannot be held liable if you are unhappy with your treatment.
